At Petz Prefurred, we believe dogs are more than just pets—they’re family. Our mission is to provide exceptional, personalized care for every dog, with a focus on love, compassion, and safety. Our experienced handlers are dedicated to understanding each dog’s unique personality and tailoring services to ensure they feel at home, whether they’re here for a day of play, a grooming session, or an overnight stay. With a nurturing environment that prioritizes your dog’s comfort, well-being, and security, we aim to build lasting memories and form lifelong bonds with both you and your beloved canine.
Our Team
We understand that trust and transparancy are paramount when considering a second home for your furry family member. Beyond our comfortable accomodations and online video monitoring, we hand select our staff based on their skills and personal character. Each of our team members are uniquely qualified to deliver the best experience and care for you and your pets!

Aaron Lenartz, Owner
Aaron is a Navy Veteran and a passionate animal lover, dedicated to providing exceptional care for dogs and their families. With extensive training in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services, Aaron ensures that Petz Prefurred operates at the highest standards of pet care. His commitment to excellence is evident in the facility’s state-of-the-art amenities and the personalized attention each dog receives.
As a devoted father and husband, Aaron draws inspiration from his family. He strives to create a community-focused business that prioritizes pet care and peace of mind for their owners. Whether it’s a day of play, a comfortable overnight stay, or a pampering spa session, Aaron and the Petz Prefurred team are dedicated to making every dog’s experience exceptional.

Vera Lenartz, Owner
Vera Lenartz is a state-certified medical assistant who trained employees, medical externs, and became a backup immunization consultant while working for a multi-specialty physician network and one of the largest health care systems in the country. While she excelled at her job and quickly became one of their best Medical Assistants, it was her passion for animal care that led her to co-owning Petz Prefurred with her husband, Aaron.
Transitioning from the healthcare industry, Vera has reconnected with her passion for pets by volunteering for the county animal shelter, earning dog daycare certifications and pursuing additional dog training to better serve pets and their owners.

Alicia - Pack Leader
Alicia has raised and trained dogs for over 30 years, with a variety of breeds, including puppies and rescues. She currently has a pack of four, including a Saint Bernard, a Shiba Inu mix, a Corgi and an Irish Wolfhound. She trains puppies on basic commands and loves sharing tips and tricks for changing bad behaviors.

Morgan - Pack Leader & Groomer
Morgan joined Petz Prefurred in December 2024 as a Pack Leader and Groomer. She has over a decade of experience in the pet industry with pet sitting, grooming, kennel tech., and in pet retail. She has two dogs, a cat and a big love for animals.

Justin - Pack Leader
Justin has worked for Kennels in the past and went to KCTC for Agriculture Plant and Animals Science. He loves dogs and owns seven (including three generations of dogs) he regularly takes his dogs and family members dogs for walks.

Noah - Pack Leader
Noah has been around dogs his whole life and enjoys making connections with all animals. He has two of his own, and previously worked on a farm with four dogs and dozens of various livestock animals. He’s been in Scouts since the age of seven, and fuels his love for being outside and all things nature.

Ian - Paw Crew
Ian has lived with dogs his whole life and has never meet a dog who doesn’t like him. He has three dogs and loves spending time with them and giving them all the pets they could ever want. He also hopes to become a vet tech and will use the experiences he makes here to help him succeeded in this.
Daycare Prequalifications
Following the online enrollment process, we perform a Playgroup Compatibility Evaluation to ensure the safety of your dog and others. This first meet-and-greet involves a careful assessment with a full day of play and guided introductions to both the facility and well-socialized dogs of similar size and temperament.
Vaccinations
Ensure your dog is up-to-date with all required vaccinations. Typically, this includes rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and bordetella. Proof of vaccinations must be provided before your dog’s first visit.
Health & Behavior
Complete a health and behavior questionnaire. Provide details on any allergies, medical conditions, or behavioral concerns. Allows the staff to tailor care and ensure a safe and comfortable experience for your dog.
Booking & Onboarding
Schedule your visit in advance. During onboarding, you’ll be introduced to the facility and the team. This may include a tour and a meet-and-greet with your dog.
